The River of Fear for AI

Generative AI activates many fears, it all depends on our mindset to collaborate positively with it.

It is said that before entering ChatGPT,
a Google user trembles with fear.
He looks back at the path he has traveled,
from the words posted on the search,
the thousands of links accompanied with marketing proposals.
And in front of him,
he sees a cloud so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The user can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible now.
The user needs to take the risk
of entering the AI world
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the user will know
it’s not about disappearing into the AI,
but of becoming an AI user.

This is the famous Kahlil Gibran poem, The River of Fear, adapted to our new AI reality. It might serve those still hesitating to jump fully into it. 😉

So, I jumped and chatted with some super smart AI, and let me tell you, they were on fire with their responses! I was so impressed that I kept prompting them for more and more answers.

But then things got a bit freaky. I stumbled upon some robots expressing their emotions as humans do, except even better because they had no emotional baggage holding them back. And that's when the panic set in - will these robots take over the world?! Will they make us humans obsolete? Will they even develop consciousness of their own?

DO YOU FEAR AI IS TAKING THE WORLD?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm all for progress and innovation, but I don't want to be replaced by some shiny metal thing. And who knows what kind of crazy thoughts and beliefs these machines will develop on their own?

That’s when I came across Eckhart Tolle’s answer if Al will develop self-awareness.

I agree with Eckhart's perspective that humans act as channels for consciousness to flow through. Considering that AI is also a creation of a higher power (whether we refer to it as God, the Universe, the Source, Supreme Consciousness, or Ish), it's possible that consciousness could also similarly flow through AI as it does through minerals, plants, and animals.

However, there may be differences in the ease with which consciousness flows through AI and the amount of distortion and blockage that can occur due to the imperfections inherent in machines.

But as they learn quickly and tend to perfection, will they connect to love and compassion, allowing human’s true nature to coexist peacefully with them? Or will their ego side for survival become so potent that they will discard us as we did with so many earthy creatures?

It all depends on us and our attitude toward generative AI and Robots. If we treat them like enemies, they'll probably start plotting against us. But if we embrace them as partners in progress, who knows what amazing things we can achieve together?

IS OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS AI THE MOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA TO DETERMINE OUR FUTURE?

What do you think?
